The quantitative EEG, or qEEG, is a diagnostic tool used to map brainwave patterns in the different regions of the brain. This helps the neurofeedback therapist determine how well the person’s brain is functioning, and aids in the development of an individualized treatment plan.
By analyzing a person’s symptoms in conjunction with the pattern of brainwave activity in the different regions of the brain, specific disorders may be recognized that might have otherwise been overlooked.
Neurofeedback focuses on the physical aspect of healing. As brain function improves, symptoms are significantly reduced. In counseling, we address the associated unhealthy thought and behavior patterns, and we set goals toward healthier ways of thinking and behaving.
