Neurofeedback Therapy in Arlington, TX

The quantitative EEG, or qEEG, is a diagnostic tool used to map brainwave patterns in the different regions of the brain. This helps the neurofeedback therapist determine how well the person’s brain is functioning, and aids in the development of an individualized treatment plan.
By analyzing a person’s symptoms in conjunction with the pattern of brainwave activity in the different regions of the brain, specific disorders may be recognized that might have otherwise been overlooked.

Neurofeedback focuses on the physical aspect of healing. As brain function improves, symptoms are significantly reduced.  In counseling, we address the associated unhealthy thought and behavior patterns, and we set goals toward healthier ways of thinking and behaving. When our clients complete treatment, they are healthier in body, mind, and Spirit, and are typically off most or all of their medications.

Neurofeedback is used to treat a variety of symptoms associated with a broad range of neuropsychological problems. Neurofeedback has been found to be effective in treating the symptoms of the following conditions:

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Substance Abuse Disorders
  • Depression
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Compulsive Behaviors
  • Migraines and headaches
  • Bruxism (grinding of the teeth)
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Chronic Pain
  • Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI)

Whether the brainwave patterns are too fast or too slow, neurofeedback can help! During a session, the neurofeedback therapist monitors the brainwaves and sets thresholds for where she wants the brainwaves to function. As the brain responds to treatment, the thresholds are adjusted until they perform at what is considered the norm, or typical, for healthy brain function.  Call me to discuss how this treatment could benefit you!
